The way we decide who will be Vice President seems outdated to me. Beyond allowing a president to insure that their priorities might continue to be pursued if they can no longer do the job, it has become mostly a political tool and feels undemocratic.

@wjmaggos What was the reasoning behind ending the practice of awarding VP to the runner up of the presidential election? Trump/Hillary would have been tres strange...

There was a tie in the electoral college. It seems like a good policy not to have the other party be one bullet or impeachment away from taking power. But it's such a weird job. Perhaps the president could nominate somebody but they'd need to be confirmed by Congress somehow. And give them more shit to do too.
